Brace Yourself for More of Sourav! Off the field as well. Yipee
25 11 2008At last my waste of a pc allowed me to post. I was wondering when I could post my farewell to Dada. The fighter who never gave up had to give in to the pressure put on him by some officials and the youngsters. I am a bit happy that he went out winning but sad at the same time because he was in good form and could have carried on playing test cricket at least for one more year. I don’t give a horse’s crap to age and all. Only running between the wickets was a problem but dada was never a very good runner but the amount of runs he has amassed prove some other point.
Well I can only say thank you Sourav for the great fighter yo uhave been and I am happy that you came in as the ‘Maharaja’ and went out as the ‘Maharaja’ by defeating the so called best team in the world. All the best for your life outside of cricket and help the team move ahead as BCCI employee. Thank you for entertaining my generation and providing us with many proud moments which we will cherish for the remainder of our lives and which helped Indian Cricket to where it is now.

Farewell to a ‘Great Warrior’ of Indian cricket
3 11 2008I have always been very emotional about Indian cricket and I would love to say that a cricketer named “ANIL KUMBLE” played for INDIA and made every Indian proud. He proved that hard work and toil can take you to greatness. There is no greater example of a dignified and sober man than Anil Kumble. His contribution to Indian cricket can never be undermined. He always did his job without ever being in the limelight. His ten wickets, which still makes me swell in pride, did not make that big an impact on many people. They thought half of it was because of umpiring mistakes. Whatever people say he deserved it ! He never gave a 100% but he gave a 120% each time he stepped on to the field. Saurav’s quote about Kumble is forever etched in my meroy when he said, “If the opposition was 250-1 and I was searching around the field for whom to bowl there was only one guy who was staring back at me to give him the ball.”
I tell you sir you have been a great inspiration to the people of India and I hope you all the best in everything you do.

The ‘Citizens’ shock ‘The Blues’
3 09 2008In a shock transfer yesterday the ‘Citizens’ have signed Robinho. Chelsea were left dumbstruck or even Robinho might have been taken by surprise. Manchester City had not tabled any bid for the Real Madrid star but at the last moment tabled an outrageous bid of £32.5m which till date is the record English Premier League transfer fee. Chelsea were very confident of signing the Real Madrid winger but the takeover of the Manchester City club by ADUG set up more funds to buy Robinho. I hope he does well for Manchester City and gets them somewhere because if they still don’t win Chelsea will be happy that Manchester City brought Robinho (Because Real would never have sold Robinho to Chelsea). I have started hating Real so much because in their pursuit of Ronaldo they forgot the importance of the players with them. They were crying foul and said that they will not give away Robinho to Chelsea and when the same treatment was meted out to them when approaching Ronaldo they were talking rubbish like slavery and all. What double standards Real Madrid has shown over the transfer season. Go Barca kick their A**es.

My trip to the Eden
21 05 2008I recently visited the Indian equivalent of Lords “THE EDEN GARDEN” to support the Kolkata Knight Riders. It was an awesome atmosphere. Really electrifying and if there is somebody who gives a lot of love to the sons of their soil, it has to be Bengal. I joined some other winners of “Milan of the Villains” from across India. We had a very good time but for the loss.
The City of Joy for once went really quiet. Well we were scheduled to meet Shah Rukh Khan whereas he had more important things to attend to. We attended an event before the match where we were scheduled to meet Shah Rukh and his team but no one was there. I would like to inform other winners of the same competition to be aware of these things.
It seems like SRK’s spat with Sourav was the reason for his absence because his wife was present at the Eden. It felt bad when the team we were supporting lost but we saw some awesome cricket from Yusuf Pathan to get the Rajasthan Royals the win.
All in all a very pleasant experience but the best thing was the awesome hospitality at ‘The Oberoi Grand, Kolkata’
.

Blog oh Blog
8 05 2008It has been a long time since I posted on this blog. Actually, I was pretty busy with some projects and stuff. I recently won a ticket to watch a Kolkata Knight Riders Match with Shah Rukh Khan. So I am pretty upbeat about going to Eden Gardens. Winning the tickets to the aforementioned contest and Nokia N81 through another have given good confidence that these contests are not fake. Talking of contests, I was on my relentless pursuit of many other contests which give away consoles and i came across BlogOHBlog. So below you can check out everything about BlogOhBlog.
I just happened to visit BlogohBlog.com on my frequent ps3 giveaway pursuits. Well it is pretty good. I especially liked the fire layout at the corners. The site is very easy to use and has a no hassle interface. Whatever you want is very easily reachable. The site does look good but the main attraction is the Playstation 3 giveaway they are supporting. Not only the Playstation giveaway but there are many tutorials and stuff for newbies who want to learn basic web designing and development using php.
It also has some custom wordpress web designs for your blogs which you can buy from here and some free wordpress themes for ones who do not want to buy anything. Do check out the section where many of the Google’s mindblowing marvels have been explained. I loved the “Chuck Norris” query part. You can get many good things to learn and work on from this site. I visited this site very recently and it seems very nice.
Not only that you can also chat with the site administrator on the site itself. It has a separate chat window as well.
Overall a thumbs up for this blog. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 for this blog. Well i would give it a 5 if i win the Playstation 3 console
(Just kidding). Just go through this site it is very good.
Do check out the link below.

Harbhajan escapes with minor punishment
28 04 2008Harbhajan singh escaped with a ban of only 11 league matches in the slapgate incident. Harbhajan had allegedly slapped Sreesanth after the match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab. It was also said that Sreesanth’s sledging antics against Robin Uthappa and Musavir Khote led to the incident. Allegedly Robin Uthappa had made a formal complaint about Sreesanth’s behaviour to Mumbai Indians captain Harbhajan Singh. then Sreesanth again jumped the line and gave Musavir Khote a piece of his mind. Sreesanth’s on field behavior irked Harbhajan and when they were shaking hands after the match, Harbhajan hit Sreesanth. During today’s questioning Harbhajan admitted to his mistake and asked to be pardoned. He said sorry to Sreesanth and pleaded guilty.
We are still waiting if there will be another seperate comittee to review this incident or not. According to the BCCI, they are going to look into this matter seperately. Harbhajan is free to challenge his decision in court.
In my opinion, I seriously doubt the timing of the incident. Was it a co-incidence that Mumbai indians had their next match against the Deccan Chargers who have Andrew Symonds in their team. Why did Harbhajan have to do this right before that match. Well we can only ponder on why it happened at all.

INDIA WINS!
13 04 2008India won the final test match against South Africa today. India won the match by 8 wickets to draw the series. Saurav Ganguly was named the Man of the Match and Harbhajan Singh was awarded the Man of the Series. India played really well and executed their strategies well to clinch the final match of the series.
India needed 62 runs to win when Ganguly and Dravid took India home with 2 more days to spare. Sreesanth and Ishant sharma added a lot of runs for the final wicket partnership. Overall, I loved it (except Sehwag’s stupidity of thinking he could reach 400 runs even when we needed only 62 runs :c ).
